Furry friends are arguably the best kind, and plenty can be found at Fannin County Animal Control.

All dogs taken to animal control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.

This past week, three dogs were taken in, and one was adopted. None were reclaimed.

Homeward Bound Pet Rescue took two dogs, and Australian Cattle Dog Rescue took one.

The cost to adopt varies depending on the price to either spay or neuter and vaccinate against rabies.

Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

The animal control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.

More information on any of the dogs at the facility is available by giving them a call at 706-632-3845 or visiting www.petfinder.com.

Animal Control is located at 1001 Fannin Industrial Park in Blue Ridge.
