Fannin County Animal Control has several sweet dogs at their facility.

The featured pooch this week is the Bird Dog mix shown with Animal Control Officer Pat Patterson.

She is a medium-sized dog with soft, brown fur. She is very sweet.

All dogs taken to Animal Control are housed at the facility until being reclaimed or adopted.

This past week, 15 dogs were taken in, four dogs were reclaimed and two were adopted.

Wet Noses Rescue took one dog, Tri State Pet Rescue took one and the Humane Society Mountain Shelter took eight puppies.

Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

The Animal Control facility is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After those hours, officers follow up on community concerns and respond to stray calls.
