  • The Humane Society of Blue Ridge cat of the week is Tilly. She is a nine-month-old gray tabby who came to the Adoption Center with her kittens and was a very good mother to them. Tilly is now ready to have fun as a single kitty! She is friendly and loves people, but she would prefer to be the only feline in the household. Tilly is spayed, micro-chipped and current on her vaccinations. Contact the Adoption Center at 706-632-4357 for more information about Tilly.

Fannin County Animal Control has changed their hours at the facility and had adopted and rescued out all of the dogs at the facility, except for one cutie, as of Friday, February 12.

The facility’s new hours are Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

After those hours, officers respond to stray calls and other concerns.

A suggestion box has also been added in the lobby of the facility, where visitors can submit suggestions if they feel inclined.

On another note, the Featured Pooch of the Week is the pictured mix, which volunteers have named Teddy.

Teddy is ready for a forever home where he can be free to be himself.

He enjoys treats, walks and play time. Once he comes out of his shell, this boy is very fun and playful.

He has a shiny, mostly-black coat with white socks.

Teddy also has an extra pair of dew claws too.

This boy was picked up on Ensley Road in Epworth December 16.

Ready to add him to your family? Call Animal Control at 706-632-3845, and use his intake number 362-20.

This past week, the Human Society Mountain Shelter in Blairsville, Georgia, rescued one dog.

No dogs were taken in, adopted or reclaimed.

Volunteers are welcome to visit, walk and play with dogs at the facility during business hours.

More information on any of the dogs at the facility is available by giving them a call.

Animal Control is located at 1001 Fannin Industrial Park in Blue Ridge.
