Over $50,000 was raised for HER HOPE Pregnancy Center thanks to community members’ participation in their Walk for Life fundraiser.
Two hundred individuals, which included the congregations of “at least 12 churches,” participated in the walk, which occurred last Saturday, June 26, at the Fannin County Recreation Center.
“It was an amazing day,” Executive Director Lori Kantner said. “Our goal was $25,000, but as of right now they have raised over $53,000.”
Winners of the walk, based on the amount of money raised are as follows:
•Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church placed first in the churches category for having raised $22,887;
•Leksi Wollschlager won for the children’s category for having raised $1,112;
•Nolan Stites won in the team category for having raised $150; and,
•Karen Reyhan won in the adult’s category for having raised $1,860.
“I also wanted to mention that a $5,000 check was given by an anonymous donor to honor Deacon Loris Sinanian for his hard work for the pro-life movement,” Kantner said.
With the money, the center will continue to provide enrichment services to women who find themselves in unplanned pregnancies.
“We’re still working on what’s gonna come next now that we’ve been blessed,” Kantner said.
