Members of 4H and FFA organizations from Fannin, Dawson and Walker counties gathered January 16 to compete in Pigs on the Ridge.
This was the annual Fannin County Young Farmers Association Invitational Market Hog Show held at the Fannin County School System Ag Center.
Ten competitors from Fannin County came away from the show with awards. These were:
•Hunter Pierce: 5th place class 3 barrows and 4th place class 9 senior showmanship;
•Justin Burrell: 3rd place class 4 barrows, 2nd place class 7 registered gilts, and 3rd place class 5 intermediate showmanship;
•Roy Green: 6th place Class 5 Barrows, 1st place class 6 crossbred gilts, 4th place overall crossbred gilts, and 4th place class 11 senior showmanship;
•Grayson Sowers: 4th place class 6 barrows and 3rd place class 4 junior showmanship;
•Lauren Waters: 1st place class 5 registered gilts, 3rd place overall registered gilts, 2nd place class 6 crossbred gilts, 2nd place class 8 intermediate showmanship;
•Kingston Ware: 2nd place class 6 registered gilts, 3rd place class 5 crossbred gilts, and 2nd place class 2 junior showmanship;
•Kyle Allen: 1st place class 6 registered gilts, 4th place overall registered gilts, and 1st place class 6 intermediate showmanship;
•Sarah Brawley: 4th place class 6 crossbred gilts and 4th place class 10 senior showmanship;
•Nick Tutterrow: 3rd place class 6 crossbred gilts and 3rd place class 12 senior showmanship; and,
•Jason Allen: 3rd place class 4 registered gilts and 7th place class 9 senior showmanship.
