Project Chimps is kicking off the new year with a new series, Cheers for Chimps, at Mountain Mama’s Coffee Lounge Tuesday, January 20.
Join Dr. Jenny Jaffe, veterinarian, for an exclusive questions-and-answer session. Guests will also receive a Project Chimps travel mug, one free Mountain Mama’s concoction and a chimp-themed drink coaster.
“Every ticket sold helps us provide essential care, from medical treatment to enrichment, for the chimps who’ve come from research labs to a life of safety and dignity,” Jaffe said.
“Events like this connect our mission with the community and show how every cup of coffee can make a difference.”
The cost is $25 and includes all of the above. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the lounge is located at 771 East Main Street, Blue Ridge.
Project Chimps is an accredited former research chimpanzee sanctuary in Morganton. The facility is licensed by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and a member of the North American Primate Sanctuary Alliance.
