Timothy Passmore, 58, of Blue Ridge, passed away April 25, 2022, in Blue Ridge. December 22, 1963, Tim was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, to Bud Passmore and Opal Passmore, but grew up in Benton, Tennessee.

At age six, Tim began playing the fiddle, and the guitar at age eight. He went on to win multiple awards for his fiddle playing, including the Tennessee State Fiddle Championships six times. He started playing music professionally at age 15, playing with The Knoxville Grass. He went on to play for such country acts like Travis Tritt, Charlie Daniels and Marty Stuart, among many other popular acts. Tim was also a former firefighter for the Gwinnett County Fire Department.

After coming off the road as a professional musician, Tim began a 20 plus year career as a local carpenter and was known for his masterful craftsmanship. Tim was also an avid fisherman and outdoorsman.

Tim married Melinda Passmore March 15, 1997, in Benton, Tennessee. Tim was best known for his devout love of the Lord, his family and his musicianship.

Timothy is survived by his spouse, Melinda Passmore; daughter, Natasha Taylor; son Ryan Ritchie; daughter-in-law Victoria Ritchie; son, Tyler Ritchie; brother, Mike Passmore; sister, Gwen McElrath; brother, Alen Passmore; sister, Sue Gregory; brother, Jeff Passmore; grandchild, Mia Ritchie; grandchild, Leo Taylor; and, grandchild, Gabriel Taylor.

Timothy was preceded in death by his father, Bud Passmore and his mother, Opal Passmore.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 2, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Chapel, with Minister Jesse C. Harris officiating. Music by Tyler Ritchie and Greg Brooks.

Interment followed in Morganton Baptist Church cemetery.

The family received friends at the Henry-Cochran Funeral Home Monday, May 2, 2022, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m.
