Body

Patsy Queen, age 75, of Kalispell, Montana, passed away at her home due to an extended fight with cancer complicated recently by COVID-19.

She was a lifelong Blue Ridge native until this past February. She was the loving wife of the late Hoyt Queen, of Blue Ridge, and the daughter of the late Andrew and Carrie Rogers, of Blue Ridge. She was a member of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ.

As health permitted, she loved gardening and reading. She would sit for hours and watch the news or do crossword puzzles. She loved to eat anything pickled, black licorice and coffee in her cereal instead of milk. She had a way of catching the attention of everyone in the room with her endless talking and laughter. She truly was the light of a room and when in a good mood was full of jokes.

She is survived by her daughter and granddaughter, Amy and Hadley Queen, of Kalispell; honorary daughter, Stacey Jackson, of Ooltewah, Tennessee; sisters and brothers-in-law, Willa Nell Plush, Betty Dills (Sonny Dills), Shirley Chapman (Hershell Chapman) and Ruthann Patterson (Wendell Patterson); brother and sister-in-law, Jackie Rogers (Kate Rogers); and sister-in-law, Sue Rogers; and honorary daughter.

Memorial services were conducted at the Blue Ridge Church of Christ Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at 4 p.m. with Minister Butch Jones and Minister Terry Stuart officiating.

Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens next to her loving husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to her favorite charity, Saint Jude Children’s Research at www.stjude.org.

Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.

Akins Funeral Home, of Blue Ridge, was in charge of the arrangements.
