Walter “Jack” Clayton Potts passed on at the age of 93 years March 9, 2022.

Jack is survived by his two daughters, Vickie Schlender and Tracy Erickson; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorthy “Peggy” Divine Rackley; and brother Edwin C. Potts.

Jack was a devout Christian, a proud graduate of Virginia Tech, honored his country through service in the United States Army and was an incredibly dependable and committed servant to anyone in need.

Jack valued people over anything else in this world. The joy, love and servanthood he shared with his family and friends will leave a legacy and echo in eternity.

The celebration of life for Jack Potts was held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Akins-Cobb Chapel in Blue Ridge. He was laid to rest with the love of his life at Chastain Memorial Park, at 4400 Old Highway 76, in Blue Ridge.

In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations be made to the Ukrainian Refugee Relief For Mothers and Children on the Ukraine border. Checks payable to Ridge Community Church, memo “Ukraine Refugee Relief in honor of Jack Potts” mail to 960 Millholland Road, Mineral Bluff, Georgia 30559.
