Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation has donated $3,000 to Snack in a Backpack to go towards feeding Fannin children.
“We are truly grateful for Food Lion Feeds Charitable Foundation gift, and the support of the fine people at our local store,” Snack in a Backpack Executive Director Debby Beck said.
Snack in a Backpack will use the gift to purchase food for the 2020-2021 school year.
Blue Ridge Food Lion Store Manager Jeff Jones said, “We are glad to help the community in any way that we can.”
Snack in a Backpack is a 501c3 non-profit organization that supplies food to children who are on the free and reduced lunch program in Fannin County schools.
Those children receive snack bags every Thursday or Friday with four meals, milk and enough healthy snacks for the weekend.
