The Fannin County Lady Rebels put on a scoring clinic Friday, January 22, against region opponent, the Coosa Lady Eagles.
The Lady Rebels netted 74 points in the contest as they topped Coosa 74-21.
Courtney Davis led Fannin in the first quarter, scoring 10 points on two, three-point baskets and two, two-point buckets down low. Becca Ledford netted seven points on a three ball, two-point bucket and two free throws. Abby Ledford rattled in two long-range three-point buckets for six points, while Natalie Thomas drained a three-pointer from downtown, and Paige Foresman dominated the paint for an easy two-point basket.
The Lady Rebels tallied 28 points in the first quarter, while holding the Lady Eagles to three to take a 28-3 lead.
The second quarter was similar to the first. Davis once again went on a scoring tear, sinking two, three-point baskets and two, two-point buckets for 10 points. Olivia Sisson and Foresman worked the paint as they combined for eight points on two, two-point baskets each. Abby Ledford made a two-point layup, and Prisila Bautista fought her way to the charity stripe where she converted two free throws. Becca Ledford converted one free throw in the second to cap the scoring. Fannin continued to play stellar defense on Coosa, as they held the Lady Eagles to 11 points in the second to extend their lead 51-14 at halftime.
Davis led the Lady Rebels in the third quarter, scoring four points on a deep three-point basket and a free throw. Reagan York shimmied in a triple, while Mackenzie Johnson scored three points on a two-point layup and a free throw. Foresman and Ledford capped the 14-point third quarter, scoring a two-point basket each. The Lady Rebels held Coosa to five points as they padded their lead 65-19 to start the fourth.
Ava Queen and York combined for six points in the fourth, knocking in a three-point basket in each. Abby Ledford was able to drive to the basket for a two-point bucket, while Jenna Young converted a free throw from the charity stripe.
The Lady Rebels outscored Coosa 9-5 in the fourth as they walked away with an impressive 74-21 win over the Lady Eagles.
