Blanco Gray

Blanco Olen Gray, age 93, of Blue Ridge, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022.

He was born March 11, 1929, in McCaysville. Mr. Gray was an overhead crane operator at McClouth Steel Mill in Detroit, Michigan. He was of the Baptist faith.

Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his parents, Blanco Calvin Gray and Ola Elizabeth Mull Gray; brother and sister-in-law, Garnel and Willa Gray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaynell and Verlin Lewis and Mary Bell and Floyd Queen; granddaughter, Patricia Watkins; nephews, Hoyt and Dale Queen; son-in-law, Rev. Edmund Miller; and daughter-in-law, Oma Lee Gray.

Survivors are his wife of 27 years, Virginia Mull Gray, of Blue Ridge; son, Olen “Buddy” Gray, of Blue Ridge; daughter, Barbara Miller, of Ellijay, Georgia; a large number of grandchildrenn and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services were Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Chaplain Joel Chastain officiating.

Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
