Polk County’s low income residents to receive commodities

The Southeast Tennessee Human Resource Agency (Sethra) will be distributing USDA commodities to eligible Polk County residents December 12 and 13. 

Commodities will be distributed Thursday, December 12 at the Ducktown Sethra Office and Friday December 13 at the Benton Sethra Office from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.  

Those wishing to receive commodities must have a card in order to receive them during this time. In order to make an appointment to receive a card, the Ducktown office can be contacted at 423-496-2644 and the Benton office can be reached at 423-338-2335. 

Proof of income for all household members or proof of category eligibility to get your commodity card must be provided.

Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the State-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size or category eligibility.
