Fannin County residents will have the opportunity to receive free Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) testing Monday, December 2 at the Fannin County Health Department.
This event is held in honor of World AIDS Day, which was first observed in 1988 and is held annually on December 1.
The CDC recommends that everyone between ages 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of their routine healthcare.
People at higher risk should get tested more often, such as men who have sex with men, anyone who has had sex with an HIV-positive partner and injection drug abusers. Learn more about who is at higher risk for HIV and about HIV testing at www.cdc.gov/hiv/basics/testing.html.
