  • The Tennessee Valley Authority hung a huge American flag off the penstock at Blue Ridge Dam just in time for the Fourth of July. Tri-State EMC proudly displayed its flag from a boom truck at the office on Highway 5 south of McCaysville. Although crowds were smaller than some expected, thousands of people turned out for the annual fireworks displays in Blue Ridge and McCaysville/Copperhill.
