A total of six Fannin County first responders, three deputy sheriffs and three firefighters, are now being credited with saving the lives of two persons from a burning home.
Fannin County Fire Chief Larry Thomas said Friday afternoon an updated report from the incident showed deputies Weston Henry, Reed Surmain and Corporal Daniel Myers were first to arrive on the scene on Windy Ridge Road Saturday night, January 31.
The three law enforcement officers immediately began removing the two people from the home, one described as a lady on oxygen. The first firefighters arrived one minute later, Thomas said.
Christian Loustaunau, Joseph Hughes and Corey Shaw were the firefighters who joined the effort to get the two individuals out of the home.
The Fannin County 911 center received the call reporting the fire at 8:38 p.m..
Thomas said the three deputies were in the area, which resulted in them arriving on the scene just moments before firefighters. The first firefighters arrived at 8:43, five minutes after the call was received.
The scene commander reported the fire “knocked down” at 8:57 p.m.
