Stephanie Cooper Schulman, 72, of Blairsville, Georgia, passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2022.

Stephanie was born October 5, 1950, in Savannah, Georgia, and lived in both South Carolina and Georgia. “Stephie,” as she was known growing up, was a beloved family member and friend to all who knew her. Like her mother, she was a lifelong Girl Scout, an avid gardener and animal lover, and a volunteer in her community who was always willing to help any person, no matter their background or circumstances.

Stephanie was married to Alan Schulman, her best friend and soulmate, who she met at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, where they both worked in the 1970s. They celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary October 16, 2022. Stephanie and Alan raised their family in Douglasville, Georgia, before retiring to the North Georgia mountains, where Stephanie was active in her community in numerous ways, including with the Fannin County Family Connection - Food Pantry and the Jewish Congregation of Blue Ridge. Prior to retirement, Stephanie worked in the school system, then with Head Start, and ultimately as a corporate travel consultant at Turner/CNN in Atlanta. Her travel clients deeply appreciated her for how well she took care of them.

Stephanie was preceded in death by her adoring parents, Herschel and Marjorie Cooper, and brother, Darrell Cooper, and many other grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She is survived by her husband, Alan Schulman; son, Joseph Schulman (Cadence); daughter, Rachel Schulman Barnhard; and her greatest pride and joy her three grandchildren, Lucy Jane Schulman, Rivka Rose Barnhard and Asa Darrell Barnhard.
