Roy Ballew

Mr. Roy Earnest Ballew, 71, of Rocky Ridge Drive, Blue Ridge, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, November 30, 2022, in the Piedmont Hospital following a brief illness.

Mr. Ballew was born October 7, 1951, in Blairsville, the son of the late Robert Ballew and the late Birdie Davis Ballew.

He retired from Levi Straus Company after 23 years of service. Roy enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching the races on tv and most of all his dog “Copper.” He was a loving companion, father and uncle. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Tommy Dills and Jessie Hill. Mr. Ballew was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Ballew are his loving companion of 53 years, Frances Voyles of Blue Ridge;  one daughter, Sherry Ann Ballew of Blue Ridge;  niece and nephew, Rhonda Cole of Blairsville and Danny Jones of Blairsville, many other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced.

In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that you spend time with your family and friends while you still can.
