Joseph Roger Paquette, age 72, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021.

He was born November 2, 1948, in Saint Albans, Vermont, to the late John Marie Paquette and Claire Marian Rainville Paquette. He served in the United States Navy as a Seabee during the Vietnam War. He worked for many years as a Service Technician for United Telephone and later at Ace Hardware for many years.

Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Elizabeth Nash Paquette; sons and daughters-in-law, Nick and Tera Schutt and Mark and Marti Schutt; siblings and their spouses, Bobby Paquette, Pat and Marnie Paquette, Jackie and Ed Boyd, Monique and Bob Christiansen, Mary Ellen and Ted McConnell, and Jeannette and Gordon Burgess; seven grandchildren; numerous nieces; nephews; and other relatives.

A celebration of Roger’s life was conducted Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 1 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Father Louis Guerin officiating. Full military honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made in memory of Roger to the Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at stjude.org.
