Frances W. Queen, age 89, of Blue Ridge, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021, at Blue Ridge Assisted Living.

Mrs. Queen was born October 1, 1931, in McCaysville, to the late Thomas Ralph Williams and the late Mary Alice Cline Williams. She was a lifelong resident of Fannin County and a member of Epworth First Baptist Church where she was the organist for 57 years. She also played for a local gospel group called the Copperhill Quartet.

Frances was very active with the Epworth Community Club, the quilting ministry at Epworth First Baptist Church and served on the Board of Division of Family and Children Services. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Ralph Williams; mother, Mary Alice Cline Williams; husband, J.P. Queen; son, Michael Queen; and brother, Elvin Williams.

Survivors include her daughter, Andrea (Roy) Plummer; sister, Pat Dennis; daughter-in-law, Billie Queen; grandchildren, Jenna (Derek) Saxon, Chris (Alexandria) Smith, Christy (Carlton) Evans and Dawn (Brad) Smith; and great-grandchildren, Claire Saxon, Michaela Caraway and Kaden Caraway.

A private graveside service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Epworth First Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 187, Epworth, GA 30541.

Arrangements were entrusted to the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home of McCaysville.
