Charles Ray Woodward, 89, of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at his home.

Charles Ray was born March 12, 1933, in Dahlonega, Georgia, to the late T. E. “Sweat” Woodward and the late Pearl Woodward.

Charles Ray was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Marjorie Parris Woodward; his brother, Joe Woodward; sister-in-law, Darlene Woodward; sister-in-law, Norma Lee Fair; and brother-in-law, Charles Parris.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam (Dale) Hopkins and Tina (Lynn) Cheek; son, Tim (Tammy) Woodward; sister, June “Bayo” Woodward; grandchildren, Jake Hopkins, Joel Hopkins, Kennedy Woodward, Levi Woodward, Lexi Baker, and Wes Baker; great-grandchildren, Jude Hopkins, Silas Hopkins, Eli Hopkins, and Ellie Kate Hopkins; brothers-in-law, Gary (Faye) Parris, Danny (Regina) Parris, Jack (Janice) Parris, and Tom Fair; many nieces and nephews.

He was a lifelong member and Choir Director at Coletown Baptist Church for over 50 years and retired from Cities Service after almost 40 years.

Funeral Services were held Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Parris and the Rev. Danny Parris, brothers-in-law.

Music was provided by Karen Hensley and Brittany Hopkins.

The following gentlemen served as pallbearers, Jake Hopkins, Joel Hopkins, Levi Woodward, Jody Smith, Jacob Shubert, and Wes Baker.

The Woodward family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Blue Ridge for all their precious love and care.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coletown Baptist Church Building Fund.
