Carol Thrasher Watson, age 86 of Copperhill, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2023, in Carrolton, Georgia.

Carol was born March 11, 1936, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Mrs. Watson retired from Bellsouth after 35 years. In her younger years, she played professional softball, and later would continue her passion for athletics as a manager of the Mableton Tiger Youth Association where she took care of the kids, parents, uniforms, and equipment. Carol was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’’s Witness of Blue Ridge.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her husband, Emil Van Watson; parents, David and Dahlia Lou Thrasher; son, Troy Eugene Cagle; grandchild, Lane Decicco; siblings, Dora Frances Thrasher, Stephen B. Thrasher, Roy B. Thrasher, Grady L. Thrasher, Willie Mae Thrasher, Mary Faye Thrasher, Dorothy Lee Edna Thrasher, David E. Thrasher, Fred D. Thrasher, Margaret Christine Thrasher, and three other siblings which passed as children.

She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Joel Tori and Vivian Cagle; grandchildren, Nichole (Chase) Sanders, Latishia (Richard) Davis, Krissi (Cory) Kato, Troy Cagle, Ryan (Adam) Duke, Nicole (Shawn) Bishop, Wade (Samantha) Decicco, and Kirstie Cagle; great-grandchildren, Ashton Kato, Alexis Cagle, Brantley Kato, Christian Peppers, Cason Sanders, Carson Kato, Carrie Davis, Khristina Davis, Sawyer Bishop, Ryker Decicco, Amelia Decicco, Maddie Duke, Evie Duke, and Kane Duke; great-great-grandhchild, Liam Kato; daughter-in-law, Sonia Cagle; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. from the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’’s Witness of Blue Ridge with Elder Rock Henderson officiating. Interment followed the service in the Hipps Chapel Church Cemetery.
