Carol Elaine Roberts, age 71, of Morganton, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Union General Hospital.

Carol was born February 17, 1950, in Polk County, to the late Robert Lee Mann and Ollie Jane Shook Mann. She spent many years as a hairdresser in the community, and later, she worked preparing taxes. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Steve Mann; and granddaughter, Emily Nix.

Carol is survived by her husband, Donald Roberts, of Morganton; son, Paul Queen, of Ellijay, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Benjie Ensley, of Blue Ridge; step-sons and their spouses, Billy and Tanya Roberts, Brian and Angie Roberts and Billy Roberts; grandchildren, Braylon (Lauren) Nix, Stephen (Sarah) Ensley, Hailey (Fiancée, Joe Bennett) Queen; step-grandchildren, Natalie and Josh Peaster, Devin Roberts, Kenny Roberts, Darian Roberts, Dakota Delong, Brianna Roberts and Colton Roberts; and brother, Mike (Renette) Mann, of Memphis, Tennessee.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday, October 14, 2021, at noon from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Grady Ray officiating.

Interment followed at Young’s Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Steve Gray, Chris Ensley, Butch Anderson, Kasey Mann, Kirk Mann, Stephen Ensley and Braylon Nix. Honorary pallbearers were Lee and Harriett Hyde Barnes, Karen Anderson, Judi Mitchell, Rita Gray, Donna Chambers, Shelby Parker, Paul Meyer, Sheri Frase, Phillip and Terresa Barge, Irene Ensley, Sandy Mann, Angela Ray, Dana Mann, Brian “Bo” Mann, Gail Mann Denison, Betty Corn, Yvonne Cochran, William Dillard and Eddie Panter.
