HER HOPE Pregnancy Center’s Dancing with the Fannin County Stars was a huge success Thursday, September 19.
The evening featured 10 couples from the area, dancing in hopes of the community voting for them by making monetary donations.
By the end of the night, the event had brought the center $19,273 in donations.
The money will aid the center’s projects, which include free pregnancy test, educational classes and baby items to women who find themselves in an unplanned pregnancy.
The performances ranged from clogging to hip hop routines, and the couples danced for the top three places in two categories (Judge’s and Community’s Choice).
The winners of the Community’s Choice and the amount the raised were as follows:
•First place, Gilita Carter, Matthew McDaniel and Holly Norton, having raised $6,245;
•Second place, Tommie Nicholson and Nathan Fitts, having raised $2,994; and,
•Third place, Jan and Sam Norton, having raised $1,635;
The following were the top three performers in the Judge’s Choice category:
•First place, Baylee Sue Williams and Gazmend Ahmedi;
•Second place, Kristy Lindstrom and Benjamin Harris; and,
•Third place, Tommie Nicholson and Nathan Fitts.
