Rodney Patterson was the most visible of the McCaysville candidates on election day, waving to voters as they entered city hall. Patterson lost his bid for mayor, being defeated by incumbent Thomas Seabolt.
McCaysville voters gave the okay to beer and wine sales on Sundays and returned a trio of incumbents back to their city council posts.
The decisions came in the city’s election Tuesday, November 5.
