Fannin Regional Hospital announced that Jason Jones, RN, MBA, was named Chief Executive Officer of the hospital, effective immediately. Jason has served as interim CEO since July of 2019.
Jones brings more than two decades of health care experience to his role as CEO of Fannin Regional. During his time as interim CEO, the hospital has made significant improvements including improving nationally recognized clinical quality indicators, partnering with regional providers such as Northside Heart to improve access to specialty services, and creating a STEM education partnership with West Fannin Elementary School.
Before his time as interim CEO, Jones served as the hospital’s chief nursing officer for six years. While in the role of CNO at Fannin, Jones focused on improving patient care and quality. Prior to moving to Blue Ridge in 2013, he served as the Assistant Chief Nursing Officer at Deaconess Hospital in Oklahoma City. At Deaconess, Jones led several patient care improvement initiatives in the emergency department, perioperative services, cardiovascular services, critical care and behavioral health.
“I am extremely thankful and blessed to serve the hospital and the community in this new role,” Jones said. “It’s an honor to be on a team with so many talented and dedicated people who share the same vision that I do – to bring quality care to our neighbors. I’m excited about the future of our organization.”
“Jason is an accomplished leader who has a unique perspective on the complexities of running a rural, mountain hospital in Georgia,” said Stacy Chastain, hospital board chair. “His passion for clinical excellence makes him well-suited to lead Fannin. With Jason at the helm, we hope to continue enhancing the care for the residents and families of Fannin County.”
Jones holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Oklahoma Christian University and Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Psychology from the University of Oklahoma. Jones and his wife, Wendy, have two teenage boys in the Fannin County School System. When he is not at the hospital, Jones is busy attending his boys’ sporting events, trout fishing or hunting in the Chattahoochee National Forest.
