Fannin County has seen an increase of 96 cases of COVID-19 over the last two weeks as of Monday, September 21.
This brings the county’s total up to 598 positive cases since the pandemic began.
Twelve of those people who had contracted the virus have died, and 44 have been hospitalized.
Of the Fannin County School System’s 2,891 students, five have a current COVID-19 positive status, 136 are quarantined due to exposure at school and 12 are quarantined due to non-school exposure.
Of the 472 system employees, two have a current COVID-19 positive status, and none are quarantined due to an exposure at school or are quarantined due to non-school exposure.
There are 436 students enrolled in online learning who do not attend in-person classes.
The Georgia Department of Public Health reported that Georgia has seen 307,339 confirmed cases, 6,604 virus related deaths, 27,394 hospitalizations and 5,005 ICU admissions.
Of these, 1,187 confirmed cases, three deaths and 17 hospitalizations were reported September 21.
According to the Georgia Geospatial Information Office, the United States has seen 6,826,319 confirmed cases, 199,631 deaths and 2,590,695 recoveries.
