Lady Rebels split with Gilmer, Pickens in volleyball action

The Fannin County Lady Rebels hosted the Pickens County Dragonettes and the Gilmer County Lady Cats Thursday, September 9. Fannin did well overall on the evening, going 1-1, first falling to Pickens (2-1) and then sweeping Gilmer County (2-0).

The Lady Rebels faced off against Pickens County first, in what would be a knock down drag out. The lead changed a few times in the first set, with Pickens coming away winning 25-23 for a 1-0 lead.

The Lady Rebels bounced back in the second set as Ava Queen, Reigan O’Neal and Reagan York battled to win the set to even the series (1-1). Pickens was able to capture the third set to escape with a (2-1) victory over the Lady Rebels.

Fannin shook off the loss as they squared up with Gilmer County after. Rylee King, Kaylie Kendall and Rachel Bruce came alive as the Lady Rebels swept Gilmer (2-0) for the victory.
