Sharon Deyton

Mrs. Sharon Ann Deyton, age 65 of Liberty Hill Road, Morganton, Georgia, passed away peacefully with her husband and family by her side Thursday, December 22, 2022, at the Piedmont Hospital following an extended illness.

Mrs. Deyton was born April 4, 1957, in Blue Ridge, the daughter of the late Frank Panter and the late Blanche Hyde Panter.

She had formerly owned and operated Sharon’s Fashions in Blairsville for over 30 years. Sharon always had a generous, loving and kind heart and was always willing to help anyone in need. She touched many lives over the years. She was a loving and caring wife, sister and aunt. Her passions in life were her husband, Michael, and her two dogs, Maggie and Daisy who she loved whole heartedly, and she loved playing tennis and pickleball. Sharon was a member of New Union Baptist Church.

Surviving Sharon are her loving husband and best friend of 48 years, Michael Deyton of Morganton; one brother and sister in law, Bobby and Ann Panter of Morganton; one sister and brother in law, Sandra and Jerry Gurley of Blairsville; several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Justin Jarrett and the Rev. Harrison Bradley officiating. Special music was presented by Bo Wright, Allison Hyde and Lita Gowder.

The following gentleman served as pallbearers, Jeff Gurley, Cody Graham, Levi Deyton, Adam Deyton, David Deyton and Alex Deyton. Interment followed in the Union Memory Gardens Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to either the Union County Humane Society or to the Fannin County Humane Society in Mrs. Deyton’s memory.

The family met with friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.
