Claude William Queen, affectionately known as “Buck,” age 85, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2021, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

He was born April 26, 1936, in Fannin County, to the late Hayden Howard Queen and Myrtle Green Queen.

Buck was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church. He worked for many years for Whitehead Die Casting. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bertie Lee Bell Queen; and siblings, Lois Queen Green, Wendal Queen, Louise Queen Bell, Billy Gilliam Queen and James Earl Queen.

Buck is survived by his children, William Wayne Queen, Wanda Faye Arp and Rhonda Denise Wilson; grandchildren, Hayden Queen, Sarah Queen Dockery, Hannah Queen, Eric Foster, Chris Foster, Kenneth Wilson and Barry Wilson; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Margie Robinson, Reathel Queen Hallett and Brenda Sue Golden.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, November 7, 2021, at 2 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Phillip Green officiating. Music was provided by the New Antioch Baptist Church Choir.

Interment followed in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Copperhill. Pallbearers were Eric Foster, Brandon Green, Larry Hallett, Frank Green, Vic Orsolits and Dakota Green.
