William Keith Brooks passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Keith was a lifelong resident of Copperhill with the exception of the time he was in the United States Army, where he served two terms in the Korean War from 1949 until 1951, where he received three Purple Hearts. He was born April 28, 1931, to James “Lint” and Mary Hendrix Brooks. Preceding him in death, other than his parents, is his brother, Rudolph Brooks; his first wife, the mother of his children, Betty Sue Panter Brooks; and second wife, Alice Dell Ray Brooks.

Keith is survived by his two sons, William Kent Brooks and Jimmy Scott (Paula) Brooks, both of Copperhill; two grandchildren, Justin Scott Brooks and Amber Renee Brooks, both of Copperhill; four great-grandchildren, Aidan Elizabeth, Vanessa Paige, Kassidy Skylar and Asa Tobias Brooks, all of Copperhill; his brother, Wayne (Janice) Brooks, of McCaysville; sister, Mildred Brooks Queen, of Copperhill; several nieces and nephews; three step-daughters, Wanda (Willy) Burke, Wilda Dickey and Wionna Walker, all of McCaysville; and several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The funeral services will take place at the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Chapman officiating the service. The family will be receiving family and friends Wednesday evening, October 27, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The funeral services will be Thursday, October 28, at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Finch-Cochran Funeral Home in McCaysville. Pallbearers will be Jay Brooks, Wayne Brooks, Jr., Gary Dillard, Bobby Hellerstedt, Evan Hellerstedt and Brett Deal.

Interment will take place at Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with Military honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Finch-Cochran Funeral Home, of McCaysville.
