Jack Thurman

William Jackson “Jack” Thurman, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Jack was born June 22, 1935, in Cherry Log, to his late parents William Clyde and Eve (Whitaker) Thurman. Jack was a member of the Ellijay Church of Christ. Jack worked for the Gilmer County Road Department until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Bell (Ash) Thurman; son, David Thurman; brother, Gene Thurman; and great-grandchild Dakota Pritchett.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandra and Troy Pritchett of Ellijay; grandchildren, David (Ann), Michael (Crystal), Terry Pritchett (Mollie) and D.J. Thurman, Kendall Joy Padgett; great-grandchildren, Bryan, Caleb, Blake, Shelby, Coleman Pritchett, Tristian, Kayleigh Kendell, Ty, Garrett Cole and Asher Padgett; and sister-in-law, Patsy Teague Thurman of Ellijay.

The family received friends Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. The funeral service was held Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 2 p.m., at the Logan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Butch Jones officiating.

DJ. Kendall, Terry Pritchett, Michael Pritchett, Caleb Pritchett, Garrett Cole and David Pritchett served as pallbearers. Interment was at Macedonia Church of Christ
