Wendell Ray “Tuffy” Workman, age 86, of Epworth, passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at his home.

He was born October 20, 1935, in Kentucky to the late Harry “Shot” Workman and Edith Hull Workman. He attended Mount Moriah Baptist Church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald Workman; and a half-sister.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie Phillips; children, Shauna (Jay) White, of Mt. Olivet, Kentucky, Robert Workman, of Minerva, Kentucky; Lisa (John) Duley, of Dunellon, Florida, and Bryon Workman, of Fargo, North Dakota; stepchildren, Mike (Deborah) Phillips, of Dawsonville, Georgia, and Tim (Gail) Phillips, of Dallas, Georgia; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and step-grandson, David Phillips.

Funeral services were held, Saturday, April 16, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Banks officiating. Music was provided by Nancy Watkins and Joel Collis. Interment followed in the Mount Moriah Baptist Church cemetery with Ed Hawkins, Brad Hawkins, Bobby Callihan, Jake Callihan, Roger Jones, and Phil Jones serving as pallbearers.
