Sherry Jemmima Perkins age 61, of Apalachicola, Florida, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2022.

She was born in Copperhill, November 22, 1960, and spent most of her life in Maryville, Tennessee, and Blue Ridge, before moving to Apalachicola in 2010. She enjoyed riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles and fishing. Sherry loved people, and she lived the life she wanted to live. She was preceded in death by her father, George McKinney and mother, Shirley Farmer; one daughter, Hyapatia Leigh Burrell; special niece, Brittany Dugan; and maternal and paternal grandparents.

Sherry is survived by her special companion, Robert Russell, of Apalachicola; one son, Rusty Perkins, of Maryville; grandchildren, Bryson and Logan Davenport of Ellijay, Georgia; one sister, Angela McKinney (Dean Dugan), of Cherokee, North Carolina; one uncle, Wayne Farmer (Shelby), of Hiawassee, Georgia; special niece, Ashley Dugan, of Cherokee, North Carolina; great-niece and great-nephew, Lainey and Trenten; special sister-in-law, Charlotte Schneider (Dell), of Apalachicola; special brother-in-law, Carlos Russell (Rosa Lee) of Eastpoint, Florida; a host of cousins and her special K-9 companion, “Norma Jean.”

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 2 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Pastor John Taylor officiating. Music was provided by Pastor John Taylor and Jackie Taylor.

Interment followed at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Billy Lovell, Wayne Farmer, Rusty Perkins, Dean Dugan, Kevin Cannon and William Chastain.
