Pete Watson

Franklin “Pete” Howard Watson Jr., age 83, of Epworth, passed away  Saturday, March 19, 2022.

He was born May 7, 1938, in Cedartown, Georgia, to the late Franklin Howard Watson Sr. and Vera Williams Watson. Pete retired from Lockheed-Martin where he painted aircraft. He attended Hipps Chapel Church. Pete restored old cars, received a lot of first-place trophies and enjoyed gardening. He was preceded by his parents; twin brothers, Wildon Watson and Willard Watson; sister, Barbara Watson Wigington; and stepdaughter, Frances Renee Colburn.

Survivors are his wife, Carol Watson, of Epworth; stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Howard Dwayne (Lynn) Gallman, of Adairsville, Georgia; brother, Douglas Watson, of Canton, Georgia; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Deborah Watson, of Tate, Georgia; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends also survived.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, March 21, 2022, at 11 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating.

Interment followed at 3 p.m. from the Tate Cemetery, 301 Folsom Road, Fairmount, Georgia 30139, Sonaraville Township. The family received friends at the funeral home Monday morning, March 21, 2022, from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour of 11 a.m.
