Mary Turner

Mary Barton Turner, of Covington, Georgia, passed away Sunday, October 23, 2022, at the age of 81.

A strong Christian woman, Mrs. Turner was a longtime resident of Covington where she was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church. She retired from the State of Georgia Rehabilitation Services after a dedicated 15 years. In her spare time, Mrs. Turner enjoyed gardening vegetables and flowers, shopping, knitting, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. She was proud of her family and enjoyed getting together for family reunions. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James P. Turner; daughter, Mary Lisa Turner; parents, Guy  Sr. and Esta Barton; sister, Eloise Barton Brock; and brothers, Dr. Howard Barton, Guy Barton Jr.

Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Dalton, Cleveland, Georgia; son, Dr. Jeff Turner (Lorry), Roopville, Georgia; granddaughters, Sabrina Robinson (TJ), MaryLeith Martin Turner, Arden Grace Turner; grandsons, Richard Louis Brown, Jedidiah Parks Turner (Abigail), Zebulun DeFore Turner; great-grandchildren, Madison Kelly Marie Brown, Emma Kate Stanley, Elaina Grace Stanley, Kylie Robinson, Tyler Robinson; sisters, Dorothy Barton Chewning, Jane Barton Crump; brother, Johnny Barton (Edna); as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Mrs. Turner was held Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at  11 a.m., at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 11171 Highway 278, in Covington, with Pastor Rob Rienstra officiating.

A Graveside Service was held Thursday, October 27, at noon, at JP Chastain Memorial Park, in Blue Ridge.

Friends visited with the family at the church, prior to her service, from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m.
