Lois Adele Grice passed away peacefully Sunday, November 6, from a brief illness.

She was surrounded with love from her family that had so faithfully cared for her.

She was the daughter of Ola Elizabeth Patterson Williams and James Grant Williams of Blue Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her spouse of over fifty years, Frank Winford Grice, and her siblings, Fred Williams, Kenneth Williams, and Mildred Farmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Timothy) Higdon; special niece and nephew, Patty (Steve) Sheffield and Tony Alonso; sisters, Ruby Manders and Helen (Wayne Allen) Cruse, and many precious nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Lois attended Epworth School and later earned a certification as Master Gardener through the University of Georgia. Everyone enjoyed her green thumb and the beautiful flowers and vegetables it produced. Over twenty years ago she joined the childcare nursery at Cherry Log Christian Church to nurture their children and watch them flourish the same way she did with her magnolias, lilies, and pumpkins.

Her hobbies included gardening, fishing, canning, camping, and writing. She helped many people over the years in various ways. She will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers were Donald Williams, James Williams, Kenny Williams, Scott Cruse, Steven Cruse, and CJ Green.

Honorary pallbearers were Madison Pressley, Matthew Farmer, Johnny Manders, Kirk Cantell, Rodney Key, Chris Davitt, Edgar Parks and Rodney Smith.

A private service was held Sunday, November 13 at the Chapel of Bernhardt Funeral Home in Ellijay.

Bernhardt Funeral Home of Ellijay is in charge of the arrangements.
