Kenneth Wayne Hamilton, age 79, of Blue Ridge, passed away, August 14, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born in Knoxville, Tennessee, to the late Frank and Edith Wells Hamilton.

He retired as a medical laboratory consultant and was a professor of Clinical Chemistry. He had also worked throughout the years as an administrator for several hospitals.

Kenneth was a loving husband, the most loving father and grandfather who had a servants heart. As a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Cherry Log, Georgia, he loved the Lord and sharing the Bible with all that would listen.

He was a former member of Worth Lodge #794 F&AM in Sylvester, Georgia, and a current member of Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM; both Scottish and York Rite Mason; Order of the Eastern Star, Hasan Shrine Temple all in Albany, Georgia. It was with his time with the Hasan Shrine Temple that he loved serving as a clown in the Red Devils Clown division.

He also enjoyed hunting gem stones and rocks and polishing them. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and making memories.

Kenneth is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jane Hamilton of the home; daughters and one son-in-law; Ginger and Al Hudson of Blue Ridge and Madelyn Hollis of Lincolnton, Tennessee; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Michael McCormack officiating.

Music was provided by the Rev. Doug Simonds.Masonic rites was provided by Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM.

The family received friends at the funeral home Wednesday prior to the service from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
