Judy Galloway Holloway, age 74, of Blue Ridge, passed away August 19, 2022, in Union General Hospital.

She was born in Polk County to the late Sam and Ophelia Oma Griggs Galloway.

Judy retired from the United States Post Office after delivering the mail from Blue Ridge to McCaysville for 21 years. As a loyal member of the Blairsville Church of Christ, she insisted that church came first on Sunday and wasn’t afraid to reprimand anyone who missed.  She loved cooking for and spending time with her family. However, Judy spent most of her time, along with her husband, supporting and cheering their grandchildren at ballgames.

She was preceded in death by Violet and Clay Holloway, Betty and Junior Thurman and Hoyt Holloway.

Survivors include her loving husband of 54 years, Ronnie Holloway; her children, Patrick and Jill Holloway, Brandon and Sherry Holloway and Ryan and Brandi Holloway; grandchildren, Clay Holloway, Luke Holloway, Case Holloway, Emma Holloway, Cannon Holloway and Reid Holloway;  Marla and Dr. Pete VanDyke, Anthony and Katy Holloway, Tracy and Carrie Holloway, Jeff Holloway, Sybil Norton and Doris Holloway; and a host of other relatives and great friends.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, August 22, 2022. at 11 a.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Aaron Stanley and Min. Terry Stuart officiating.  Congregational music was led by Will Nelson.

Interment followed in the Ellijay Church of Christ Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Clay Holloway, Luke Holloway, Case Holloway, Anthony Holloway,  Tracy Holloway, Jeff Holloway, Cannon Holloway and Reid Holloway.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were: Tony Deal, Brett Deal, Bobby Hellerstedt, Evan Hellerstedt, Chad Lariscy, Titus Pugh, Dr. Stan Trigg, Scott Lewis, Andy Arp and Dr. Tim Jabaley.

The family received friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Fannin County Scholarship Foundation at P.O. Box 1883 or to the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Effort online at www.disasterreliefeffort.org.
