Jimmy Charles Allen, age 75, of Blue Ridge, passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at his home.

Jimmy was born in Blue Ridge to the late Lawrence Estes Allen and the late Louise Pierce Allen. He retired from the Tennessee Copper Company as a pipe fitter and later enjoyed a career as a sheriff’s deputy for Fannin County. In all those years of working, he never missed a day. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending countless days at the taxidermy shop. Jimmy was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a nephew, Roger Lee Allen Jr.

He is survived by his brothers, Roger Lee Allen and Bobby Estes Allen; sisters, Patricia Allen Cook and Linda Sue Allen; nephews, Kevin Franklin, Jason Allen, Stacey Allen and Trevor Allen; a niece, Tonya Allen; and many other friends and family members.

A funeral service was held Friday, March 4, 2022, in the Chapel of Akins-Cobb at 3 p.m. with Rev. Nathan Stuart officiating. Interment followed at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Randall McGill, Chris Graham, Adam Dickey, Kell Green, Trevor Allen and Denny Cook. Honorary pallbearers were Mike “Hog” Nicholson, Jimmy Ray and Alan Baugh.
