Ira Davenport

Ira Lee Davenport, age 86, of Epworth, passed away Friday, April 1, 2022, at his home.

He was born in Higdon, Georgia, to the late Floyd T. Davenport and Stella Jones Davenport. He was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church. Ira worked as a journeyman meat cutter and later as meat manager for Winn-Dixie and Ingles grocery stores. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Denise Davenport; and sisters, MaeBelle Harris and Pauline Ausburn.

Ira is survived by his wife of 64 years, Barbara Patterson Davenport; son, Butch Davenport; grandson, Nathan Davenport; brother, Arvil Davenport; and sister, Patsy Thomas.

A memorial service will be conducted at Hipps Chapel Church Sunday, April 24, 2022, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating.
