Dorothy Morgan

Dorothy Mae Morgan, age 88, of Blue Ridge,  passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, in Blue Ridge.

She was born April 8, 1933, in Blue Ridge. She was a member of Young’s Chapel Baptist Church.  Ms. Morgan was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Parr and Della Curtis Parr; two brothers and one sister; son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Dawn Morgan; and a son-in-law, Mike Carpenter.

Ms. Morgan is survived by her children and spouses, Betty and David Stanley, of Ellijay, Georgia, Janet Carpenter, of Andrews, North Carolina, Barbara and Jackie Rhodes, of McCaysville, and Ricky and Diane Morgan, of Blue Ridge; a sister, Susie Henry of Blue Ridge; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Friday, February 11, 2022, at 3 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Larry Stover officiating. Music was by Linda and Ronald Hyde, Raven Welch Harris and Brett Cantrell. Pallbearers were Jody Cantrell, Chandler Cantrell, Blaine Hooper, David Morgan, Steven Wilkins and Ronald Wilkins. Interment followed in Barnes Chapel Cemetery with Rev. Darvin Couch officiating.
