Mrs. Colette T. Bittner (McAdorey), age 77 of Morganton, passed away Friday, October 21, 2022 in the Retreat at Jasper in Jasper, Georgia, following an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

She was born October 8, 1945, in Belfast, Ireland, to the late James Thomas and Mary Clarke. She immigrated to Canada at the age of 19 and worked for GM Canada for 23 years until her retirement.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Wayne Bittner of Morganton; her children, Michele (Robert) Leboeuf (McAdorey) and Kevin (Tricia) McAdorey both of Windsor, Ontario, Canada; grandchildren, Cassandra Stoddart, Jessica Leboeuf, Brendan McAdorey, Jackie Leboeuf, Mitchell Stewart, Reid Stewart, and Lucas Stewart.

Colette had a special spark and left her mark wherever she went.  She is fondly remembered by friends and family around the world including Belfast, Windsor, Sault Ste Marie and Florida.  While she lived in Georgia for only 10 years, she had a deep love for life in the mountains including many cherished friends and neighbors. A special thank you goes out to the nurses and staff at Retreat at Jasper who accepted her as she was, and made her final days comfortable.

A celebration of life service will be held Tuesday November, 1, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on Hardscrabble Road in Mineral Bluff.

A memorial service will follow with her family in Canada at a later date.

Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
