Post season honors pile up for Fannin’s Davis, Ledford

Fannin County High School Lady Rebels basketball players Courtney Davis and Becca Ledford were chosen by the Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GBCA) as First Team All-State selections. Davis and Ledford represented Fannin County in two of the twelve spots on the North team.

Davis was also voted “Best Shooter” in the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class AA division and was chosen for the Class AA Second Team by Kyle Sandy. Ledford was honorably mentioned for GHSA Class AA by Kyle Sandy as well.

Both girls were chosen to participate and started in the North Georgia All Star Game over the weekend.

Davis played in the underclassman game while Ledford played in the senior game.

Lady Rebels’ head coach Ryan Chastain said,“I am extremely proud of both of these girls. They’ve worked so hard for our program over the past few years.

Becca’s career accomplishments speak for themselves. She’s been Region Player of the Year, selected all-state by almost every major media outlet in Georgia, and now she’s heading to the University of West Georgia to play college basketball.”

“Courtney has had an unbelievable year for a player who’s just a sophomore. She was Player of the Year for 7AA, earned multiple all state selections and Shooter of the Year,” Chastain said.

“The best part is that both kids still have their best basketball in front of them. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for both players.”
