Vanette Nix Pack, age 93, of Epworth, Georgia, passed away Friday, August 17, 2018, surrounded by her daughters and family.
She was born September 8, 1924, in Copperhill, Tennessee, to the late John Robert Nix and Mamie McDougal Nix. Mrs. Pack was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church (Airport Road). She retired from Levi Strauss and Company as a supervisor. Mrs. Pack loved camping, embroidery, dancing, gardening and her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Edward Pack; sisters, Eugene Nix, Dorothy Garren and Barbara Williams; brothers, Billy Nix and Franklin Nix.
She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sue (Ronnie) Stillwell of Copperhill, Tennessee, Ann (Tommy) Ledford of Copperhill, Tennessee and Cathy (Larry) King of Blairsville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Tim Stillwell, Felicia Deal, Cynthia Prince, Tommy Ledford Jr., Jeffrey Burton Ledford, Carla Valette Rains and James Lewis King; 15 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean (Kenneth) Waters of Epworth, Georgia and Joan (David) McDaniel of Wyandotte, Michigan.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 19, 2018, at 2 p.m., from the Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Randy Hughes, the Rev. Al Patterson and the Rev. Jimmy Cheatham officiating. Music was by Jennifer Ray. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memory Gardens. Tim Stillwell, Tommy J. Ledford Jr., Jeffrey Burton Ledford, James Raines, Jackson Ledford and Corbin Head served as pallbearers.
