Kathy Ann Ross
Mrs. Kathy Ann Ross, age 68, of Mineral Bluff, passed away June 19, 2019, at her home. She was born in Murphy, North Carolina, to the late Virgil Miles and Arlisa Green Wheeler April 13, 1951. Kathy was a loving wife of 51 years, mother and grandmother. She was active with the Fannin County Band Booster Club and a faithful member of the Blue Ridge Church of Christ. Also preceding her in death were two siblings, Larry Wheeler and Sarah Gunn.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas A. Ross of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Vanessa Ross Weaver and husband Jeff of Blue Ridge; son, Vinson Alan Ross of Mineral Bluff; grandchildren, Kathryn Weaver, Jessica Ross Wargo and Brianna Ross; great-grandchild, Brody Kincaid; siblings, Sue Wilson of Buford, Georgia, Linda Dyer of Hayesville, North Carolina, Vickey Ledford of Lula, Georgia, Joan Rodgers of Flowery Branch, Georgia, David Wheeler and Junior Wheeler both of Clarkesville, Georgia, Mae Wilson of Demorest, Georgia and Michael Wheeler of Hayesville, North Carolina; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Described by her family as “a woman whose kind, fierce and loving spirit cannot truly be encapsulated by mere words,” Mrs. Ross touched the hearts and lives of countless individuals. She was gifted with the ability to brighten up a home, not only with her vibrant choices of wall color, but also with her sweet-sounding laughter and unparalleled home cooking. Mrs. Ross cared for many people deeply and generously, but above all, she loved her friends, her family and her Savior. In the face of hardship, she carried with her an enduring sense of positivity and tenacity that will allow her to forever be remembered as a truly brave, bold and beautiful woman.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, June 22, 2019, from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. James Pasley officiating. A Eulogy was provided by Lonnie Jones and Sr. Congregational Music was led by Mr. Bob Pugh.
Interment followed in the Stanley Church of Christ Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Mike Huff, Barry Ross, Dick Sumner, Johnny Walker, Leonard Walker and Jason Wheeler.
