Brian Jones won the seat for magistrate judge on Tuesday, July 26 by 1,260 votes in the Fannin County Nonpartisan General election runoff race against opponent and incumbent Sherri Walker who received 1,104 votes. Among those celebrating were, from left, Josh and Zack Jones, Brian, wife Angie Jones, Jenny McDaris, and April Ledford. He took the race with a little more than 53 percent of the vote.
The Fannin County Republican Primary runoff race on Tuesday, July 26 for the school board seat of Sandra Mercier resulted in Chad Galloway receiving 1,305 votes versus his opponent Clarence “Junior” Farmer collecting 894 votes. Galloway, right, spent the evening at the courthouse waiting on results with his wife Amanda Galloway. He won the race by 411 votes or a little over 59 percent.
