West Fannin Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day with its annual program honoring those who serve or have served in all branches of the United States Armed Forces. Here, guest speaker Retired Master Sgt. James Bradley participates in a candle lighting ceremony where all Veterans present were invited to come up and light a candle for their time served and others they knew who may have spent time defending our nation’s freedom.

Ryan Hilton joined dozens of other veterans in the annual Fannin County school system celebration of all the locals who have served in a variety of branches of the United States Armed Forces.

Veteran James Sutherland, father of third grader Graham Sutherland, participated in the candle lighting ceremony Nov. 10 to signify the service and sacrifice he and other soldiers gave in the Armed Forces.
Students from West Fannin Elementary School participated in their annual Veterans Day program singing a number of patriotic tunes that stirred emotions and pride in those attending the event. They are led by Music Instructor Ben Sexton, left, to follow along with the melody.
