  • The Lexus Matthew Alexander Rich was driving came to rest wedged between the railroad tracks and an embankment between Hometown IGA and St. Catherin Laboure Catholic Church. Searching the car are Polk County Deputy Sheriff Manuel Patterson, Detectives Josh Stroud (partially hidden) and Jake Wallace. After the crash, Rich fled on foot along the railroad tracks before finally being caught across from the McCaysville First Baptist Church by Wallace, Stroud and Patterson.
