Mr. Robert Bernard Arp, age 89, of McCaysville passed away September 2, 2020, in Blue Ridge. 

He was the son of the late Frank Pierson and Mamie Magdeline Sparks Arp. Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He had worked and retired from the Tennessee Chemical Company as the general office shipping supervisor. He also was a long time devoted member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville/Copperhill. 

Robert was also preceded in death by an infant son, Robert Joe Arp.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Peggy Queen Arp of the home; four sons and their spouses, Rodney and Starr Arp of Prattville, Alabama, Terry and Julie Arp of McCaysville, Doug Arp and Duane Thomas of Blue Ridge and Kent and Pam Arp of McCaysville; grandchildren and their spouses, Charissa and Michael Rice, Nathan and Bethany Arp, Abby and Steve Lanni, Brandon Arp, Christina Arp, Kerri and Ryan Denham, Jason Arp and Kaitlin Arp; great-grandchildren, Zachary Rice, Faith Rice, Isaac Rice, Hudson Arp, Sawyer Arp, Grayer Arp, Hattie Arp and Ford Arp; sister, Katherine Armstrong of Quitman, Texas; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Arp and Dorothy Arp; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends also survive.

Graveside services were conducted Saturday, September 5, 2020, at 6:30 p.m. from the Kingtown Baptist Church cemetery with the Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating.
